Guys and Gals: We are planning a paintball day out at Paintball Sports Fairbairn on the 12th of December (the weekend after our December LAN). The 12th is a Sunday which will allow those who work on Saturdays to attend. The cost will be $50 to play all day, a BBQ lunch and 200 paintballs to start you off. Extra paintballs at $15 per 100 or we can do a deal for a box to share out (2000 paintballs). I will need your $20 deposit before the 6th (just pay it to me at the LAN). Remember you have to be over 18 to participate. |

The LAN is the easiest place to get me the deposit, I don't care who pays, but only people with deposits will be guaranteed a spot (I will be booking for XX people depending on the number of deposits, if you just try and show up on the day they may not have enough food/equipment ready). If you pay the deposit and can't show you will need to arrange a replacement or you may loose your money (deposit is for the paintball field not ACTGN).
Other arrangements can be made closer to the date if you are not attending the LAN.... and why would people not attend the LAN???? - No excuses, some of the anti-CS admins are even thinking of giving Countestrike Source a go.... last edited by Stryke at 23:21:12 12/Nov/04 |

Why a full day? In my experience you come in after the morning, have a BBQ and don't feel like playing the rest of the afternoon.
Half a day plus BBQ at the end would be the go I reckon but that's just my personal preference. Plus gives people time to do stuff in the afternoon if they have to. AND cheaper at $30 or something like that. If it ends up being a full day, I will only be coming for the morning. |

I've gotta agree with Imp on this one. Last time I went, I found that I was fairly buggered in the afternoon. Not to neglect the fact that my thigh muscles were hurting serveral days thereafer! :/

also might be worth to note, i believe it is $25 for students (ie have valid student card) for those of us that are over 18 and at school (tafe/uni etc)
and yep definatly interested :) last edited by Sephiroth at 11:07:55 15/Nov/04 |

Geez, I thought *i* was unfit - I was tired after the last half-day, but not exhausted, and I only felt a bit of a twinge in my legs the next day.
Must be all the hackey-sack I've been playing. :P |

Haha! Ok, being unfit and not having much sleep the night before doesn't help. However it was fairly awesome none the less! :)
From a friend... would love to come, but need another way to pay the money. also, a full day is gold, after bbq i was just as eager to get back out there, plus a full day gives you time to actually use the experience you've gained in the first part of the day, as well as become very comfortable with being shot at! |

It's $40 for a half day (only $10 less)
I'm sure those that want to only do half day can do so, the rest of us can continue into the afternoon. You will need to confirm Half or Full day when you pay the deposit. I will then book for X at half day and Y for a Full day. - In the case that less than 10 people want to do a full day we will change it to a half day. As for paying the deposit, if you cant attend the LAN what options would you like. I work in Civic, I could meet people somewhere in town during lunch. - Otherwise suggest some options (I don't do Credit Card or Direct Deposit, but I might be able to organise it through Paintball Sports). last edited by Stryke at 16:30:35 16/Nov/04 |

Yes this is still on.
I don't have definite numbers yet (I'm not counting people till I see their deposit) - but have tentatively booked for 20. I have my own goggles, and they shouldn't fog (they have an anti-fog coating on the lenses). |

I have 9 deposits plus waiting on several people who have said yes to pay the deposit.
I also have some people who say they will turn up on the day, but I don't really count on them. I will hold off paying deposits till tomorrow when I get a better I idea if we will get the 14+ I'm looking for. |

I will cancel the booking, I could only scrape 10 people to give me deposits. Might try again in February when - People haven't:
blown a wad of cash at the casino, Have Christmas/birthday parties to go to, Can't get out of work, Spent their money on presents, Are expecting a child any day now, etc. etc. One of the guys I asked had a paintball day already booked this Sunday in Sydney, might go and join in with them. last edited by Stryke at 12:46:06 07/Dec/04 |

You can... but you might not get the BBQ lunch (they only cater for the number I tell them - saves waste). I will be handing over 16 deposits on Friday (driving out to the field at lunch), I could tell them more might show but then they don't know how much food to order. (I have had a couple of people who have said the same thing).

Weather forcast is looking OK for Sunday, so it should be all good.
I prefer to play when its overcast, usually cooler and less glare in the goggles. |

Yeah... Even if it is forcast to rain, the pattern of rain this week has been fairly predictable. Overcast, mild, slightly humid mornings. Warm to hot during the day and then stormy and wet in the late afternoon / evening.
We'll be fine. Will be a good day. Ground will be slippery though ;-) But at least there won't be any dust. |

Because I did some serious damage to my back on Saturday morning and was pretty much out of action for the rest of the weekend. DAMN IT!!!
I guess the plus was that I all but finished GTA:SA. From what I hear, paintball was pretty good. I'll definately be trying to make the next one Stryke! |

We only played the last field in the rain, but yeah, I wouldn't recommend it... playing in the rain sucked for 2 reasons:
1. Your goggles fog up so damn fast! paintball is no fun at all if you can't see s***. 2. It became difficult to follow the line of your previous shot because it was obscured by the suddenly VERY visable gas cloud emmiting from the barrely after every shot. Despite that last field in the rain, it was a good day even though there was a distinct lack of ACTGN gamers and Admins! |
