Let's elaborate just a little shall we...

It's not actually giving you the link to the ACTGN event to click on after you click on 'Register'. Just says:

You may register for the following events in Australian Capital Territory:

Event Name Location Event Date(s) Registered Register
48

BYO PC, Power Board & Network Cable.

You're going back to the days of the $5 LAN where you had to bring everything yourself, power board daisy chaining and numerous power failures were common place, and you're still charging $20. Hahaha!

There won't be many people turning up you know...

Age Limit: 15

Hahaha! And even LESS people will turn up if you make the age limit 15... Even the admins won't be able to go. Unless of course you mean "Minimum Age: 15" in which case you should say what you mean!

OK, when you click on Register you have to click on Show All Events then scroll through the list until you find the ACTGN listing and click on Register on the right hand side...

OR...

After you're logged in with you Ausgamers account, click here.

we will still be providing one power socket for each person as we have at all our recent LANs. I am just reminding people to bring a pwers board to plug in to the 1 socket as most people will need more than one...
This is to hopefully prevent what has happened in the recent past where people have turned up with their own powerboard, used 3 to 4 sockets for themselves and then when the table is full we end up with gamers coming to us to tell us there isn't anywhere for them to plug in their PC.
If everyone brings their own powerboard this will not be a problem.

"There won't be many people turning up you know..."

If not enough people register for the event, the event is cancelled, it's that simple. If this occurs it is likely that there will be no further ACTGN events.

Hmmm, it refers to the minimum age limit. This is a feature that is built into the Ausgamers Registration system, when I registered the event I got the option to select this from a list.
For the record: The minimum age limit for this event is 15 unless you are acompanied by a parent/guardian for the entire event.
This restriction is in place because many of the games played at this event fall under the MA15+ Restricted category. We will only allow childeren under the age of 15 to attend the event if their parent/guardian attends with them and is OK with their child viewing MA15+ Restricted material.

actually, I checked this and it says "Age Limit: 15", it does not say if this is an upper or lower limit, it's just a limit. It's bloody obvious that it's a lower limit! no need to stipulate.

put down the spoon Kris ;)

This dosn't effect me but I was wondering, do you have to be 15 or can you be turning 15 that year? Or can you just bring a permission note or something? lol sounds weird but just wondering.

If you are under 15 you can still attend if acompanied by a parent/guardian or if that isn't an option, you could contact one of us and we might be able to sort something out.

This issue of course is that at the event, most of the games being played are MA15+ Restricted and we would like your parent/guardian's consent before we start corrupting your mind! err, well, you know what I mean :-)

On the subject of Tournaments, due to the low numbers, it's likely there will not be a comp, but we will throw it open to you the attendees on the day and we might run a comp of some sort if you lot can agree on what you want... ;-)

Bloody hell...

None of the admins are going to be able to tell the difference between say 13 - 16 year olds.

Just don't tell anyone!!! SIMPLE :-) You aren't asked for ID when you show up and it would be un-reasonable to expect anyone who is under 16 to have formal ID of some kind.

Since none of the admins can actually say any of that, thought I would. They need all the attendees they can get :-)

same as if you went into a MA15+ movie really. i never got asked when i was 13/14 years old. same thing when i was 16/17 going into grog shops. if the age restriction wasnt brought up in this topic noone would have really noticed.

I find it funny seeing 60 year olds getting asked for ID at pubs. :)

Moderately amusing ad played on this idea recently...

Woman walks up to bar, barman asks for ID...
as she preens herself on looking so young she has to be asked, the barman turns to his mate and says

"See, told you she was too old for you..."

Reasonable heating (combined with body and computer generated heat) for winter - completely inadequate cooling in summer.
