did you drive the DSG or the Manual one?

They only had a DSG one there... I like the DSG - more power than the manual AND more fuel efficient. Only problem is the shift has to be pushed forwards for shifting up and pulled backwards for down shifting... That's backwards! Other than that a great box.

Will compare to the manual cause I still think the manual will be more fun to drive...

yeah kris, all the golfs except for 3 door GTIs (which we dont get) are made in south africa. The R32 golfs are made in Slovakia, Polos and Lupos (pretty sure) are made in China and the new Jettas (last model were called Boras) are made in Mexico.

I mean s***, they have just produced their 100,000 millionth car... i really dont think they can pump that many cars out of one factory :)

COMMENTS: JAPANESE IMPORTED SPECIFICATIONS VERY SPORTY

I've put down a deposit and it has been taken off the market as the owner has accepted my offer, but I am still obligation free (score)...

I've driven the car, found that power was smooth right thru boost, a few rattles (will be fixed) it doesn't blow smoke, those are genuine kms (log books), dual 2.5inch mandrel bent exhaust, no water damage, no rust.

The car was sitting there for about 2 months (driven every now and then) lady owner too :) Is also currently unregistered, but the Consignment Centre has agreed to get it ready for rego... RWC and all work needed to forfill the requirements of the RWC. So far this includes, fixing the front bar, replacing the front springs and shocks, new side mirrors, fixing the rattles etc etc.

The car feels tight and goes where you want it.

Has anyone had any experience with these 300zxs? This is a Japanese import and is one of the more desirable of all 300's... 2 seater, short wheel base, fully optioned with cruise control (very rare in 5 speed)

As far as I can tell, this is an after market paint job too and is very clean.

Just so you get an idea, I've offered around 15k.

be a prick, tell me how much you hate these, but tell me WHY you hate them.

cheers

edit, can't link for s***, but it works... just click it!

I've never really liked them, bit too big and heavy. Been for a spin in one of the turbos, and it is kinda reminisent of a commodore but squished. But hell, if you enjoy it thats all that counts.

big and fat, eats fuel and attracts cops attention oh and very expensive to repair i would imagine (espeically if you get a funky rare jap import).

Find a mechanic who knows his stuff or people will butcher the s*** out of it.

They go alright though i guess.

I wouldn't buy one.

^ Not tarbo though.

As much as I like them, I'd rather spend my monies on something else.

Yeah... All decent cars have a tarbo. Without a tarbo it's not worth buying. First thing I check when I buy a car is to make sure there's a tarbo under the bonnet.

SO much better than a turbo! And cheaper insurance than a turbo too. Can't go wrong wih a tarbo!

I bought a new car on the Weekend. An R34 Skyline GTR :P. I must add, that I can't fit in it and it was pretty cheap. Tamiya Remote control cars are so fun to build. I got the Calsonic Skyline and I've found it to be a great way to exercise the dog.
