What a game.
I was never into these types of games. I was more of a Racing, FPS type of game fan, but I then decided to bite the bullet and try out WoW. I haven't played this type of game before and I was always the one that would say "I haven't got time to play RPG's of any sort". I actually thought they'd be "boring". Boy was I wrong. I am now a WoW addict. I bought it a few days ago and now I have trouble getting myself off the computer. This game was a good intro into this type of game for me. The interface was piss easy to get a grasp of. I didn't even have to read the manual for the controlls. The manual helped with other stuff though. A proper manual. Haven't seen one of those for a while. A bit of playing around helped with adding different "tricks/abilities" to the bar and only a key press away. Just brillient. Oh and the party mode is fantastic. Certainly helps to have some help during some of the quests :) Anyways, I'm off to play the game some more. My character is human and he's a warrior. I've gotten to level 7 so far and enjoying every minute of it. My character is called "krashed" atm. Buggered if I remember which server I'm on though, but it's a normal one. :) |

you need to buy the recipe (it requires cooking (1) )
then u need a small egg (drops from lv 10-15 birds) and holiday spices after you do that quest you have to kill the "grinch" a lv 37 elite snowman (yeti) we're all playing on blackrock and all in mid to high 40's (horde) we all have mounts n stuff, gunna start on the new instance soon! |

It's basically a section of the game that gets split off when a group enters it. It is only your group that is in the instance so no one can steal kills etc. Also the creeps don't respawn. Instances tend to have one or two quesets inside them and can take over 3 hours to get through. They're fun :)

Creeps inside an instance -do- respawn, as I was not-so-thrilled to discover when the blackfathom boss killed me =[
I wish there were some non-elite instances... soloing elite mobs is teh tedious. |

I'm still hooked to this game..
I'm upto level 18 now, so I'm doing OK.. Not bad for an MMORPG newbie I guess ;) I'm doing alot of walking though, not focusing on single quests. Today I just spent my time looking for more and more minerals to mine. It seems that the level of NPC's as you fan out from your starting location is about right. My character is human, and I've had the pleasure of visiting ironforge and it's surrounds. I finally figured out how to blacksmith properly, yesterday. Would've been good to know this from the beginning, cause I wouldn't have wasted my money on buying weapons. I would've just made them myself. Still enjoying it. On the server I'm on, Uther (normal), there was a massive war at the front of stormwind today, with some horde characters causing havoc. Then the locals (aliance dwarves, humans, night elves etc.) came in to help. Was astonished to see people at level 60 etc.. Can't wait to hit level 40 though, cause I really want to ride a horse ;) Certainly was a spectacular site to see. Just a tip to newbies, group up on missions where possible. Makes it way easier, especially when elite characters are your target. I gotta go back to the game that has taken away whatever other life I've had. Enjoyable still ;) |

Was in a group to kill and get Van Kleefs head... Most enjoyable time I've had in this game so far. Group of 5, me be 18, other being 19 and a 23, 24 and a 29... sure was fun and I got pretty rich too... I swear that I got atleast 6-7000 experience points for this on, minus the quest completions (the gnome sprockets quest, and van kleefs head... I'm sure I'll be getting well into lvl after this :)
Now I gotta let my cramped up left hand have a rest. |

Mount? -_- grrrr
I'm currently level 29 Tauren Shaman on Blackrock. Thankfully, even though I dont have as much time to play the game I can still get ahead. What many of you don't know, is that we shamans have a special 'win' button we get at level 10. Well, its only Tauren shamans who get the win button. Btw, what modifications you guys using? Autobar, Totembar, and cooldownhud are now essential to my play. Hoping to get online in a few more days. Wanna get to 31 on the weekend. |

I'm still playing WoW. My character is at lvl 32 about 4,000 exp points from lvl 33. My warrior is doing well. I've basically bought armour etc with heaps of extra stamina, strength, agility etc. and my armour rating against similar leveled beasts is at 41.8%, which is pretty good ;). WSo good infact that I can still beat beasts 2-3 levels higher than me and with the help of counterstrike and disarm I was able beat a lvl 35 character, with 2 others attacking me. I was pretty happy with that. I actually watched a Paladin with help of a mage etc almost fail in their attampts (the paladin was lvl 35)
Certainly get's more enjoyable the higher up you get. On the server I am on, Uther (normal server), there are daily raids on SW and Xroads and South shore etc. At this level, I am actually feeling that I can help with the raids. Unfortunate for the alliance on my server, we don't have a clue. Some of us do, but most don't even give a f*ck about helping out. The horde players on the other hand look like a very well organised bunch and if we didn't have the numbers, they'd hammer us for ever. Yesterdays raid on SW was a joke. The horde got into one of the buldings and the stupid alliance (I am one aswell) would go on a kamakazi mission in the bottle neck of the entry corridore. The only way we beat them in this unorganised was to have 2-3 times more people (the horde had about 30) and to get non pvp enable people behind them in the building. Oh well, still can't wait to get my horse though ;) |

It looks like cosmos to me..
anyways, now lvl 36. Took on Mor'laden myself last night (lvl 35 elite). I couldn't believe it.. No one could :) also left myself with with 25% health :) Looked at my combat log and it looks like, thanks to counterstrike, I crit him 3 times with 300+ on each crit. Hamstrung him, used my slow down trinket, disarmed him, Also sundered his armour by 1350 by the end, so he was like a little baby :) Still can't believe I did it though... With sharpened 2 handed axe and battle shout I have a dps of 62 which is quite good. I was also a tank for Morbent Fel (lvl 33 elite) with a group of 5. I dunno what the fuss was about. I have heard so many stories about morbent fel failures, but we survived easily (me lvl 36 at the time, with others at lvl 30 and less), so much so we did it 3 times to helped the odd person. So enjoyable being tank :) I was so full of confidence, that I wanted to take on Stitches (lvl 35 elite, but more like lvl 45) myself, but I know that I would've lost easily. |

Heh heh, I'm a warrior too. Everyone rips on us cuz they think it's a s*** class. . .but if you're grouping, guess who's always right next to the loot? :D
That said though, I don't seem to win many duels. Druids in particular have comparable combat ability, but they get healing spells. *sigh* Why is there a 2 minute cooldown between drinking potions??? |

Using bandages is 1 minute cooldown I think... if you get first aid from the beggining (I found out about it about lvl 25 or something), at these higher lvl's it can be a life saver if both your's and the enemies health are near the end.
In pvp warriors get owned by paladins most of the time aswell as in duels, mainly because they have instant health.. warriors have to spend money to get this stuff, especially being a blacksmith/miner like me. Our rage generation also sux, especially in duels, because we can't generate the rage at the start with a charge. The only way we generate is if we cause damage or get damage. The AH is certainly a great place to buy stuff :) I have heaps of health potions, rage potions etc, just to be on the safe side. Soloing warrior is harder than other classes in most cases, but in groups warrior take all the crap, while the pussies (priests, paladins etc) hang back and just heal us :) certianly a great combo. For the Morbent fel fight, I basically held him off while the others took care of the 4 other cronies. The cronies were lvl 30 and less, so it was easy for them... then they just healed me and threw a few spells/hits morbents way :) Funny thing was, it seemed like my health bar was the only health bar falling near the end. :) Like I said, I love being a warrior even with the issues related to the class. |

ive made an alt for now on another server, a warrior, NE, but wow like the miss spams sometimes lol, its fkn NASTY.
duels are pointless as a warrior and i can see it shining WELL in pvp where a rogue wont always get the chance to be fully prepared etc. rather handy is that fact. might go play my pally soon though to hit 50. btw echo, i didnt like cosmos that much but interesting nontheless. im still using nurfed more than happily :D |

haha Krash. The other day I said something along the lines of "As if a level 31 priest would beat me" (I was lvl 33 shaman).
I then had to argue for like an hour with my guild leader (who has rolled a priest whilst everyone in the guild catchets up to him) who assures me I would definately get my ass kicked. His fiance agreed and she's a higher level shaman. Eventually we agreed that Im a stubborn, stuck up jerk who doesnt know how to play the game..and he is a retarded hypocrite. Well.. kinda agreed anyway. I'm level 34 now, not far from 35. Just picked up first aid the other day, because healing myself is killing my mana more often. Quite handy when combined with autobar. Money is rolling in due to thousand needles (which Ive now left) being filled with mines. I <3 Mithril. |

I’m playing a NE Rouge "Asmodean" on Uldulm im only lvl 18.
but in my defence I have only been playing for like 5 or 6 days. personally I’m looking forward to Battlegrounds, so that my server doesn’t chug whenever there is a pvp session going on. out. |

NE Rogue..well *thats* original.
Oh wait..wrong forums *cough* Still 34 -_- I took up a rather addictive and counter productive habit. That being, everytime I find I cant level due to ganking.. I go to Redridge and absolutely smash the local populace. Its really awesome if I get a few other shamans/fast runners/mounteds to come too. Absolute hit and run territory. But levelling is a bit rough for me now. I solo, am a quitter, and there are seemingly more and more lvl 60 druids who have nothing better to do than root me to the ground when an infernal (3 levels above me) aggroes me. I sooo envy that ability. I usually use low level frostshock on alliance chars whilst they're fighting the mob. Haha, no chance of escape! I have bad karma =/ |

Warriors suck pretty hard. They seem fun early on but once you hit about level 40 with them you realise how much they suck. As a rogue i have the same dps as a warrior that is 7 levels above me (i'm 46, he's 53). True the warrior isn't a damage dealing class but they're just so boring too. If you're alliance play paladin, same as a warrior but you can heal and if you're horde go Shaman.

Sorry MROC, but what you just said looks entirely too similar to some very bad attitudes I been seeing on the forums.
Most warriors Ive met, dont believe the forum hype about being gimp. They're only too happy to prove they aint nobodys hoe. Shamans are fun, but why is being one better than any other class? Same for paladin. If anything, the Paladin looks like a very bland class. My guild leader is in his mid 40s (last I checked, I only play about every 4 days) and is a warrior only too happy to be a warrior. Most of my guild is warriors. We have a rogue I think, a hunter, 2 shamans some priests.. no warlock yet. Saying "dont go x, go y!" is a very 'flavour of the month' way of doing things dontcha think? Who cares about your DPS rivalling that of a warrior above you. As a shaman Im far more worried about warriors (hamstring, retaliation) than rogues (Rogues do it from behind - Penny Arcade). Admittedly your stuns are begining to drive me nuts. |

yeah cheat shot and kidney punch are my friend.
My comments are based on the warrior character that i played and what my friend (the 53 warrior) has been saying. He hates it but isn't going to change as he's put too much time in it already. Warriors do have one saving ability which is execute, damn that thing can deal some damage. Then again you have to choose a character that fits your playing style and a warrior just wasn't what i was after. last edited by MROC at 11:44:32 27/Jan/05 |

Finally, ganking is proftable as well as fun!
I spent the night running around redridge ganking/being ganked for sooooo long last night. Like, 5 hours. After putting everything in AH..well I came out about 10g richer than I went in. Not bad reward for lamely running a circle around the zone killing any poor fool in my way. I think those alliance guys are gonna be all shell shocked. I killed them in their own towns, on their guarded and patrolled bridges.. and always "out of nowhere". A level 41 came along to try and end it, but I had a rogue with me. He ended up the one being ganked. oh and Im finally 35! which is only heaps far behind everyone else. I hate you all =) |

The best deal was US$29 (AU$38) for 100 gold. Meh, it was payday and I had nothing better to spend it on :P
eBay + PayPal + Credit Card = very dangerous combination Still, I have no regrets about it. Probably wouldn't do it again though, considering I've spent half of it already >_< |

Idiot. Gold is so easy to get in this game, that I feel rather sad for those who actually buy it. At least nobody will ever know. The stuff is so abundant it doesnt stick out when 1 guy has too much. I dont care much about buyers/sellers (I did it, and so did most higher level players in LII) but I do care about supporting the wrong groups. That is, the ones who ruin the game so they can make enough money to sell. Thankfully WoW wont ever suffer that too badly, thanks to instances. In LII a large majority of dungeons were completly inaccesible due to farming operations. |

it requires 40 x lv 60's all decked out with UBRS (Upper black rock spire) equip the last couple of groups to try MC have wiped on first or 2nd pull, but yesterday a group got to first mini-boss then wiped 5 times and gave up we pulled first one and only lost 9 ppl ! http://spam.sonuku.com/user/~tomo/moltencore1.jpg then we got a bit further thru blah blah got like 6 or 7 pulls thru and a Roamer re-popped on us and we wiped, then i DCed >_< now im in 500 queue T_T theyre just clearing the re-pops from start so i should be back in soon oh http://spam.sonuku.com/user/~tomo/moltencore2.jpg this instance is insane, these 62/63 elites pull in groups of 3-4 and dont drop any loot ... cept 1% chance of epic parts of set im happy to be only druid in the party, so i get any druid items ^_~ |

http://www.users.on.net/~welsbw/Pics/hotlink.jpg I'm really starting to regret going warrior. Most of our abilities are crap, and the average rogue can own us in combat. Paladins are way better too :( Still, I think I'll stick with it just cuz I really want to play this game as a high level char. Battlegrounds will be heaps of fun I reckon. . .plus I wanna get revenge on all the faggy alliance player who keep ganking me :P |

I'm still sticking with my warrior. He's doing well. I'm at lvl 39 now with about 20,000 exp to go for lvl 40. My warrior is still able to beat things 2-3 lvl's above quite easily (with about 10% health left). Then I gotta find another 60 gold from somewhere so I can buy a mount (18g for training, 72g for the horse.. damn pally's just need 8g for training and they get a free mount *shakes fist*). I might just hang around stranglethorne Vale and kill the apes, tigers etc since their parts are pretty good for making money. I actully found that in about an hour I got about 3-4 g's after selling the stuff they dropped. Much easier than killing things that drop money. I tried the dropped money route and it took over an hour to get more than 1g in money and about 1g in dropped equipment. Saving for a mount is a grind....

I was giving s*** to all the warriors in my guild for being gimp, so they came all the way to STV to duel me, lol.
We tried it several ways, and the end result was that I barely lost in a "weapons only, enhancements allowed, no spells, no totems, no magic shields" fight. You warriors ought to be proud of that damned silence ability. Really delays your death ! But yeh, Ive met plenty of warriors, even level 60s..who enjoy playing their class despite it needing improvements. Ive play mmorpg long enough to see that there's no point chopping and changing. Everyone gets nerfed or buffed at some point. I remember in L2 a stack of people rerolling their insanely powerful archers. Those who didnt reroll, ended up being pretty powerful regardless of the fact they couldnt do as well as their previous version. |

yer. Warriors do have a problem. I've dueled and I usually (not always) win against any other class with a lvl below me, I even do well against same lvl classes, but I usually loose. But the only main problem is, I get them down, then they heal. I even lost against a druid with me using my super health potion (which is expensive). I'm actually working towards getting the piercing howl talent in the fury talent tree (be done by lvl 47), which knocks out opponents for a few seconds, just enough to use my bandages. Our main problem are our timers.. If we use retaliation (15 seconds of swing as fast as anything with a few crits) we have a 30 minute cool down which also affects sheild block (6 seconds of low damage recieved), so realistically once during an instance. Our miss rates also suck, but lately my miss rate has hovered around the proper 5% and even my crits are sticking around 6%, which is supposed to be normal. But I've heard of warriors with a miss rate of more than 10% on a regular basis. Nothing worse than having the first 3 swings showing as misses (the misses always seem happen in 2's, 3's etc). Warriors only build rage on the damage they cause (why 2 handed weapons seem to be better to use than a sword and shield) or the damage they recieve, so if we miss the first few swings, we have to make up for it later.
One thing I like about warriors though, is that some of our abilites/talents can effect every enemy around us, no matter what the number is. I actually agro'd a mob of about 15 once with my demorilized shout. They all got ! above their heads and then decided to attack me... hehe.. just enough time for the healers to heal themselves and me. I also like Berzerker stance, which is unlocked by doing a warrior specific quest. There are some nice things in there. I particularly like intercept, which allows me to "charge" a fleeing enemy, daze them for 3 seconds then attack ;). Also handy to have the ability to be immune to fear etc type spells for 10 seconds. There are also other talents that allow me to deal damage (I'm talking even 300+ crits etc at my current lvl) to more than 1 enemy at a time (whirlwind and cleave effect upto 4 enemies). Oh and pummel is a god send. Using a 2 hander, I was unable to break spell casting. I'd be able to do it with a 1 hander and a shield (shield bash), but pummel certainly helps now. Without casting abilities, some classes are just weak as anything. Haven't duelled since I got berzerker stance and pummel, so could be interesting. Another problem with warriors is the extreme micro management required in the arms, fury and protection talent tree's. You have to decide what type of warrior you want to be right at the start, or else the build may be a failure in the end game. Currently I'm doing more of a Arms/fury build with a few protection talent points thrown in and my warrior seems to do ok. In the WoW beta warriors were much better to use apparently. When the retail version came out, everyone that played warrior before and later said that the warriors have been broken since beta. Makes me cry when I see the video from the beta of the lvl 60 undead warrior dealing 1000+ damage and demolishing lvl 57+ mobs in a couple of swings. I wish the warriors could still do that :( We are now just glorified punching bags and even other classes are better at that aswell. Anyways, there was a warrior protest on Argent Dawns with about 40-50 gnome warriors in IF. The screenshots were hillerious. last edited by KrasH at 17:46:32 31/Jan/05 |

I really like using my hunter. Heaps of people dont use their pets... i use it because the last talent you gain 20 health everytime your pet attacks and by lvl60 you can fairly tank your pet up.
You've obviously never played against any good hunters Tom :P |

Keep in mind Krash, warriors are tank class. Most RPGs use the following styles:
Tank DD - Weapons DD - Magic Healer Then the hybrids and specialised. Tanks will always have low damage output, because of their HP and armour values. Dropping their magic resistance helps, but its easier to restore hp than mana usually. So if you want damage output, go a DD class (in our case, rogues). I almost always went 'summoner' or 'nuker' class in RPGs. However after my experience of LII (I was extremely powerful solo..but not of much use to groups) I wanted to ensure Id never play alone again. I thought I was going healer/buffer/resser class when I went shaman. Funnily enough, im soloing the game again lol. Im sure you tanks will get a hand. In other news, 4 levels to go, and 30g before I have a mount. Yay? But Im going back to my working week tomorrow..so it'll be at least 3 weeks before I get to mount. darn. |

apart from draggin this to the top...
THEIR 'FIXING' SEAL OF THE CRUSADER! omg! that was about the only ability that made a paladin weilding a 2h wep for the dmg any good :O every paladin just became a shield wearer i think :O unless of course you get an epic 2h or somthing random like that. though the shatterer is an awesome 1h wep for the disarm bit , granted the whole lvl 35 thing :O |

@ Vuxacha
yer, we make good tanks. Which in some respect sucks, because soloing is so damn hard sometimes. True I can still handle creatures that are upto 3 lvl's higher than me (any more and I will die, unless I use retaliation which has a 30 minute cooldown and then I have to hope the miss rate doesn't screw me as it usually does). Using either a 2 hander or a 1h and shield doesn't make much of difference in what damage I get dealt. Just that the 1h 1 shield combo is slower at killing. 2h just kills things quicker and generates more rage in a shorter time which is good. But in terms of group tanking 1h and shield in Defensive stance is a must on most occations. I have died many times when attacking a boss in a group when using the 2 hander route (need it for rage generation then battleshout the whole group then sunder armour 5 times). But atleast on those occations, the boss was almost dead by the time I died. One of our main problems is that if we decide to go for protective talants, we seriously suck solo. If we go arms/fury talents soloing is easier, but we won't tank aswell as a protective spec warrior. All this micro management sucks. Go to this thread to see how screwed warriors are : http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-warrior&t=91570&p=1&tmp=1#post91570 A lvl 60 warrior with the best gear (epic sword etc) get's beaten by a naked paladin etc. Anyways, I'm at level 42 now, about 20,000 experience to lvl 43.. I still have no mount (still about 50g's short after buying alot of gear). Been buying plate armour (sure is expencive to repair) and I got myself a pretty nifty 2 handed sword (38.8 dps with chance on hit: 150 shadow damage and it's 70.1 dps on my specs stock, but with battleshout it's 80.1), Witchfury. I'm thinking of getting it enchanted for +7 damage, but it's expencive on the realm I'm on. I'm thinking that in a few levels there will be better swords for the money. I've also got a better one hander and will be getting a better shield. I've also started to duel wield aswell. There are so many debates on the warrior forums about what the better option is end game, so I think I'll practice in all of them. Yesterday, I actually duelled with a lvl 55 Tauren warrior. I lost obviously, but I did cause him some damage (even though he used peircing howl on me, which dazes me for 6 seconds and I still can't spec it for another 3 lvl's.. damn talent tree's), so much so, all the horde that were watching soluted me and clapped ;) Funny stuff. Either I'm pretty good, or he's just crap. I recon the latter, although he gave another tauren warrior at lvl 58 a run for his money. I suspect he used retalition in that fight. Was involved in a RAID the other day. A horde guild with about 20 or so, mostly lvl 60's attacked darnasses. I went to help out the alliance (died twice for my efforts). Certainly was a sight to see one of those huge lvl 60 ancients attacking the horde as they entered the main gates. On the alliance side there were quite a few healers trying to keep the ancient alive. Worked quite well because the horde ran away to regroup.. The ancient died in the end, but there weren't many horde left. Tactically, on our server the alliance generally suck. The horde always hammer us untill we get way greater numbers. Some of the tactics we seem to employ is "everyone attack at once". Or, "follow that lvl 50 horde" to an ambush.. We never seem to group with our party members which is why we suck. Can't wait to get hammered when battlegrounds get's released. We'll get owned. Just a tip for those looking for a quick buck ingame. Wildvines, taken on rare occations from some of the skull whatevers (around lvl 40's in Stranglethorne Vale) are gold. On my realm, you can auction them off for 1g each, even though to sell to vendor is only like 10 coppers.. ;) Every wildvine (all 6 of them) I've auctioned for 1g has been bought. Anybody know of good spots for getting rich for a lvl 42 warrior like me? Be it money, items etc. I need money for the mount, cause all this running is making me tired.... *shakes fist at paladins* For a funny read about warriors, there is a pretty good thread on the warrior forums at worldofwarcraft.com. Apparently blizzard are going to release class specific shirts. So the thread basically has "what should be on the warrior shirt?". My fav is "I'm a warrior. I can hit 2 birds with 7 stones". Classic. last edited by KrasH at 10:44:59 06/Feb/05 |

Almost everyone at LANGames plays on Uldum, and others at other cafes play on Kil`Jaedon. All servers are good ... |

Level 43. Havin fun still. Rolled a Hunter who I play when Im playing with my brother who just started a Rogue. Currently hunter is 14, has a raptor, mazzalanche, and durotar tiger.
I was in a guild of friends I been with for 2 years, but due to my arguementative nature I had enough the other night and switched to a new guild (Unseen Supremacy). I get sooooo hot blooded about calls for nerf of any class. Its such a very negative way to look at things. 1 more day of work and then its back to WoW. I hope to make it to 45 very soon doing SM/Zul Farrak & Uldaman w/ heaps of dustwallow, kargath and stv on the side. |

I just hit lvl 49 this morning.. Less time to play now than over christmas. My warrior is doing well. I decided to do an Arm/Furry build for more PVP type action. Stuff protective build, cause it's too bloody boring when soloing apparently. The last few days have been interesting. Smallish horde raid groups have attacked SW on a daily basis which is fun. Pitty that all the lvl 60's alliance on our realm hang out in IF almost constantly so SW is a reletively easy place to get into. I do my part, even though I am quite a few lvl's lower than the 60's. Always good to get in there and use peircing howl, demorilize shout and once I used intimidate shout and quite a few of them were effected. I mainly target non malee type players on the horde side. Specifically priests. If I occupy their attention, it could save a higher lvl alliance player.
Also soloed stitches this morning. First time I've beaten him by myself. I tried at lvl 37 but I died quickly which was expected. I think that if I bumped into him at lvl 47/48 I may have been able to beat him solo aswell, but it would've depended on whether I got a few crits or not. The latest update seems to be ok. IF isn't a 5 second pause place for me anymore which is good. Although I am experienceing severe latency issues. I would usually get 300ms or so pings, but today it's almost 1 sec. Oh well, hopefully these issues will be resolved. I'm still enjoying the game... |

me and a few guildies after a weekly guild event streaked out toons from SW down to goldshire, then following the road east to 3ways in redridge and ran from there south into darkshore, still nakie!
we then beat stitches down in that fashion ;O i was dual weilding bones afterwards, i had his femur as a shield and some bear bone as my main :P it was like a 4-7dmg bone lol. but we went along ganking a bunch of lower level horde who were tryin to harass people there :P gotta love naked runs... especially when you pvp like that 0_o |

Well, here I am waiting for my realm server, Uther, to come back up and I'm getting pretty annoyed. This fricken sucks. Uther is always down for whatever reason. I can't even say anything on the damn bloody forums at WoW. WoW is a great game, but something tells me that if they don't fix these server issues, WoW will be known as an absolute a dud, which would be really unfortunate, because it's a good game. Oh well I am at lvl 50 atm. There is one good thing to come out of the down time. The server came down just a few minutes after I made a bid on some seriously good gear at the IF AH. I hope I win the auctions because of this ;)
I did the princess quest in Marauden yesterday and I survived the whole way. Killed her (me and the pally were the only ones left by the end though, but pally resed the others). Unfortunate thing is that the pally in the group died soon after, obviously getting too much agro from the heals and a passing patrol that took us by suprise. I did the ultimate sacrifice "challenge" all mob went on me, I died and it wasn't enough. When the pally dies, there is no point in going further, since you can't get to your corpse. Atleast I got a pretty nifty 1h sword for completing the quest. I like the "chance on hit: 2 extra strikes". Which is good. Adds on average an extra 300 damage in each attack. Even better when the feature get's triggered more than once ;) Certainly sits nicely next to my 2H, truesilver champion ;) Well, anyways, with all the hassles with playing on uther, I was actually thinking of starting an alt character, a horde character on a PVP server. I was wondering... Is blackrock a good place to play? last edited by KrasH at 19:34:05 27/Feb/05 |

Level 45 now.
Yeh, that downtime blowed. Not because it affected my gameplay (I was at work) but because it fsked all my auctions. Because the servers were down for a day, no1 bidded on most of my items. So they came back (minus the deposit fee). On top of that, the items which DID get bid on, were bid on for mimimum value because almost nobody was on at ending time (~5am). That is to say, 10 mithril ore for 50 silver. Yep. I was sitting there thinking of cancelling the auction, but the guy bidding was a guildy. After he won the auction I remembered it was my alt's auction so he wouldna known it was me who cancelled if I had. I learnt my lesson, from now on I'll set min bid higher for some items. |

hehe... Yer, I got some real bargains that I auctioned for. Got a lvl 49 ring of the bear (+8 str and stamina) and some kewl chest plate of the bear (+15 str and sta). Unfortunatly The shoulder armour I wanted (blue armour with 12 sta, 12 str and 8 agility) was bought out just before the down time... doh. Oh well. Atleast I got something out of the problems. I didn't get any experience yesterday, so it looks like getting the Mortal Strike (causes alot of damage and gives the opponent only 50% of their healing ability) talent will have to wait a few more days.
Also, during my wanderings, because of the downtime I read some of the stuff about the next major patch. Well, battlegrounds will be out then and atleast one warrior issue will be resolved. We will now generate rage even if the strike is dodged (I like, cause overpower under my spec is 50% crit chance after a dodge, hence rogues don't like me), parry or block. This should minimise some of the frustration when fighting someone. Hopefully the miss rate issue will be solved, although I haven't really experienced bad missing lately. I just don't like the spurty nature of it eg when it misses it's usually in 2's and 3's. I also hope that they fix some of the known warrior bugs aswell. Particularly execute (enabled when enemy is at 20% or less health, gives a 450 damage plus 9 per rage point), which looses all rage even when you miss, which it is not supposed to do.. |

Blackrock's the most populated server in the game... take that to mean what you will =) I'm enjoying playing there though, got stomped in the molten core the other day, was good fun.

The next patch is also going to make some bug fixes etc for warriors. Can't wait to be able to use overpower after a special ability is dodged. Will also get rage generation on parry, dodge, block now. Some other warrior fixes, but I hope they resolve the miss rate bug. Some other classes get improvements aswell and the odd nerf. Some classes will pay less or training. Warriors will pay more. Oh and I mustn't forget, the next patch will give us Battlegrounds. This'll really be just brilliant (unless lag arrives etc).
Oh well... lvl 52 now and about 20,000 from 53. I think that I'll hit lvl 60 about easter monday (long weekend for extra play). *fingers crossed* |

Miss rate bug doesn't exist. QA tested this to death and found nothing. it's just that 10% missrate when using special abilities :|

There is a miss rate bug. The bug is more prevelent the higher the lvl. I've been farming some rested experience in Sorrow Hill and the miss rate there with mobs the same and 2 levels below is shocking (me 52 mobs, 50-52). Certain mobs seem to have worse miss rates than others. The miss rate get's over 15% for me there everytime. The miss rate is supposed to be 5%. Special abilites are another matter. Execute is useles there... tonight, the first 4 executes I did were misses, then a 50% or so miss rate afterwards. Sunder armour fails alot. Mortal Strike had a shocking miss rate. I also like when rend misses 4 times in a row quite alot here. That being said, I think the next patch fixes a problem with some dodges, parries etc being shown as a misses. Can't remember if this is for mobs or players. So maybe this is a little bug fix. I love it when mobs dodge (especially after patch, where ability dodges will allow overpower). 50% crit rate with overpower. Just to prove a point, I may just let fraps do the talking when I get the time.

It may be mine and 90% of the warrior forums perception that there is a miss rate bug. We may just be wrong. Oh well, like I said, atleast overpower on dodged special abilities and not loosing all rage on an execute miss will make warriors a little happier.
Anyways, pity that Uther is down yet again. I then decided to maybe start a horde character on Blackrock. Unfortunatly, it's down aswell... ARGH! Even proudmoore, where another one of my alts is on is down. This s*** is getting beyond a joke. |

I'm lvl 54 atm, about 50,000 from 55. The other night, while raiding the usual SS/TM raid, I had to res by myself, since the raid had moved back to SS by then. A lvl 60 horde rogue decided to attack me while I eat. I was at 75% health at this stage. By the time I was able to react my health was down to half way. I just press the retaliation button, then rend, used a major healing potion and ended up soloing the rogue and won. Luckily my Truesilver champions shield proc'd twice for a few of his hits each. Rogues dodge, so overpower was used twice, both times crit. Also must add, that the rogue seemed like a newbie, because I wasn't stunned at all during the whole thing.. Certainly made my day. One thing I didn't like though, was that after the raiding, which lasted about 3 hours I went for repairs and it cost me almost 3 g's.. I must add that I did die about 5 times while raiding. Life of a warrior.
Also, the Horde guild Frater e Fractus raided SW yesterday. They tried to kill the king but failed. They ended up moving to the gallery building in the dwarven district. There were about 20 of them, mostly lvl 60 with maybe 2 or 3 below. Was good to see 30+ alliance (only a few lvl 60's, mostly lvl 50's and 40's wih a few below 30) come along and then totally clear out the room, twice. Also had some fun earlier when a lvl 30 guildy notified me of a few horde killing npc's etc in Theramore. The horde had a lvl 60 and 3 others who were in mid 50's and in the 40's. When I arrived they were whiping out the inn. Then a few other guildy's turned up aswell (lvl 40's), then we totally whiped them out. Was certainly enjoyable. Can't wait for battlegrounds. last edited by KrasH at 07:52:16 17/Mar/05 |

Yeah, their real level is hidden by the scripting system, and a 500 placeholder is used instead. She's level 63 judging by the number of resists and inability to skin her. Not an easy fight though, the third stage is pure chaos. I got binked for 3500 when she was at 2%

I've hit LEVEL 60.... woohoo..... As soon as I got lvl 60 I went raiding (after buying my remaining abilities that is).. Sure is enjoyable and it seems that I am dieing less... The horde are even scared of me now. Now to do some of these end game instances and get some proper lvl 60 gear. |

Oh, the mount mony. I think that you'll find that you'll most likely lvl about 3 times before you get enough money for a mount. That's what happened to me. I found that at around 40, that grinding the trolls at the bar'hai zu whatever ruins in STV (east side of the road towards booty bay and just north of the arena) is great for grinding mount money. The gorilla's drop hair that's worth quite a few silvers, and the trolls drop wildvine, which sell's for quite a bit on the realms server I am on. When I was doing this, wildvine were selling for 1g each and in a 2 hour killing session I would usually get about 5 wildvine along the way.
When it comes to buying mounts now, the guild I am in have a mount fund. The guild doesn't pay for the full mount price, but they do provide about half of the amount needed. Or you could do what some lamers on the Uther realm do. They have lvl 2 etc alts that they use for begging for gold. I got asked by a zammy yesterday if I could spare 1 gold. I said "get a job" and quickly put him on the ignore list. I hate wankers like that. As if I'm going give someone I don't know my hard earned money.. geez. I give enough to the mount fund as it is.. Anyways, I'm actually thinking of playing my tauren warrior (I love the class) on blackrock more often. Only lvl 4 atm and within a few weeks, I suspect that I'll be in the 20's. |

I've been hanging out in plaguewood, wanting to kill Lord Dykwhatever, which is a random spawn amongst the mobs there. I really wouldn't mind having the songblade he drops regularly. Unfortunatly, his spawn is so rare that even after maybe spending about 12 hours all up in recent weeks there, I still haven't come across him. Unfortunate that I can't find him there, but killing mobs in plague is an easi 15-20g an hour, thanks to the drops that can be sold at ah or vendored. Oh well.. I'm finding lvl 60 boring. Mainly because when I'm on after work, it's the middle of the night server time and there aren't many people around which means less chance of instance runs, so I mostly end up duelling other lvl 60's in IF atm. I'm atually duelling quite well and getting better. There is a lvl 60 pally that is actually duelling me alot, so that I can really practice beating them. Pally's are a 50/50 now and rogues are quite easy to bet, unless they actually know hat to do and leave contantly stunned. I hate priests. Can never beat them. Hate Mages, because they sheep... then hit me 2-3 times and use up all my 4200 hp. That's why I prefer raiding, because with backup I can kick some ass.
BTW, I've started my tauren warrior, krashed (same name of my human warrior on uther), on blackrock. At lvl 6 atm after about an hour of play. I might actually play him more aswell. But I must say, the 50 crits rooock for lvl 6, but not as good as my lvl 60's usual crits in the mid 1000's (most 800+). So hard to get used to the low numbers. That said, I think I'm going to make my tauren a crit build, Possibly more fury, but more than likely a 31 arms (with 5% crit in axes and aim for my human warriors current Mortal Strike build)and 20 fury (with 5% in crits, and aim for my human warrior 5/5 in enrage). With mostly of the tiger stuff (agi/str), since taurens get a hp racial bonus, so I'll rely less on stamina for that reason. Hopefully, I can get the crits upto 30-40%. I should own then. Almost forgot to meantion, that guild I was in on uther, Prelude of Agony, imploded the other day. There was a mass /gquit after 2 guildy's were being absolute wankers and bringing the whole guild into their argument. The guild sucked anyways, although most of the guildies were great. I was the only warrior above lvl 40 out of over 60 guild members and even then, I rarely got invited to tank for guild instance runs. Pretty crappy when the guild leader asks me to do an instance run then I say yes and he ends up not organising anything and poor me had to turn down request by non guildies to do runs in strat, UBRS etc (lvl 60 warriors, like me, are like celebraties). Pissed me off.. Anyways, now in another guild that was formed by the better members of the previous guild. Sacrifice of Sorrow. Not a bad name and a damn good tabard design ;) last edited by KrasH at 07:24:43 09/Apr/05 |

Wel well well.. I decided to copy my 60 human warrior to the PvE test server. Absolute insanity. I can't believe how much pvp goes on at the PvE test server. There were raids forming everywhere for everything. Totally awesome stuff. Also got a guild invite there. Over 50 members and all lvl 60 (except for a few sub 60's). I haven't seen so many lvl 60's in my life. Spent maybe about an hour in a TM raid with 40+ alliance at almost as many horde. Totally insane. Also nice to see that some of the healers on the test server actually heal warriors like me that charge into a dozen horde intimidate shout (great to make the odd horde fear to the waiting alliance) then run back. It's sometimes hard to survive when you have over half a dozen dots on you. Especially those fricken 1103 damage over 30 second ones. Totally bad feeling when you run out of healing potions an no one heals.... Unlike on the uther realm, where healers healing warriors is pretty rare.
The new ranking system rocks. I feel sorry for the horde in this regard. Mainly because on all realms, alliance outnumber horde and the honor kills rely's on actual kills. Killing civilians is ba too. Now quest givers etc have civilian in there tage. I can't wait for the patch to go live because I think it'll be total bedlem just to get the high ranks and then the great gear that is better and cheaper than the stuff on the AH, much easier to obtain. |

Yah, I copied my lvl 41 to the test server, and Booty Bay was an absolute slaughterhouse. I just got ganked by 60s over and over again =/

Um, no... I prefer warrior even with certain class flaws.. I know the class reasonably well and with all my playing I have found tht Tauren warriors may be the best warriors to use. I have a paladin alt at lvl 11, but it's fricken boring. Also have a hunter in the mid teens and it's fun, but in end game I don't see hunters being all that usefull. I dunno... I just like warriors. They aren't perfect, but they certainly are enjoyable to play at times, especially in horde vs alliance raids. I hope I get my tauren up to lvl 60 one day, but with the impending release of the next patch with pvp honor system, I dunno if I will be able to find the time to lvl up the tauren. I actually wouldn't mind having a shadow specced priest though, because from what I've heard and seen, they can pretty much own anything, if played well.
Anyways, this morning I log into the test server, get invited into a raid on undercity (damn those spawning deathguard) and it was a whole lot of fun. Unfortunatly a horde priest feared me in the elevator and I fell through the world and got diconnected a 10 seconds later. Haven't been able to log on since. Also, I have found that some of the players on the test server are pretty hopeless at duelling. Out of about 5-6 duels, I only lost one and that was when I miss timed execute at the end.. doh. The duellers on the Uther realm would own most of the duellers there, because most own me ;) /salute aranon(warrior), mike(warrior with a dress.. lol.. We're gonna raid the horde wearing dresses in a few days. Should freak them out), Elowen (mage), triomega (paladin), Zodd (warrior and always a close fight, even though I win 4 out of 5 times) and F(forgot his name), a lvl 54 rogue tht owns everyone pretty much. Best rogue I've ever seen. |

I was just wondering how successful have any of the WoW players here been in raiding MC. Has anybody actually killed the last boss, Ragnwhatever (10th boss), apparently no one anywhere has). The guilds on the Uther realm have gone all the way in, but have been unsuccessful in beating the last boss (don't even know if they've even got there). Some of them are really up themselves and I'd really like to hear that they aren't the first ones to do this ever. Comeon Blackrock players. Put them, mostly American, in their place.
BTW, Played my tauren warrior and he's now lvl 8. Walked all the way to ogrimmir, just to open a flight path. What a great city that place is. Saw some allience trying to start a fight with players atleast 20 lvl's below them. I really wish that there was a Rogue party ready to pounce. Anyways, what are the toon names some of you are using on Blackrock. Mine is Krashed (same as the lvl 60 human warrior I have on uther). In regards to my lvl 60 warrior, He rules. Even though I have no valor gear yet (no time to do any runs). I've successfully beaten same lvl paladins in duels. Thanks to my little intimidate shout 8 sec stun script ;). It rules. They hate MS (50% less healing for 10 sec). Paladins that bandage are fricken hard to beat though. When you intimidate shout, if you don't attack the targeted player, they stay stunned for 8 seconds. Plenty of time for bandages (2000 in 8 sec). Rogues are my meat. I beat them 75% of the time. Good rogues can own me, especially those that keep me stunned for the whole fricken fight. But in Malee and their dodging (love 50% crit with overpower) they die quickly. Hunters that Malee suck, I totally own them. Hunters that play the range game own me. Mages suck. They beat me always (damn sheep), but I have come close to winning. Priests (especially shadow priests) are the hardest to beat. Still not success against good ones. Shammens. Let me say that when they put down the totems I suck at duelling them. Anyways, My intimidate shout stun script /script CastSpellByName("Intimidating Shout()") /target krashed The timing has to be right though. I use a slow big hitting 2h sword and use the script straight after a hit. If I mistime it (lag) the stun won't work. Because there is a 1 sec delay in casting, I had to make a seperate script for bandaging. my Bandage script /target krashed /script UseContainerItem(0,1) With cosmos there is actually a delay command, so I could possibly put it all into one script, but buggered if I know what the command is (too lazy to find out). My favourite script is simple but effective. /yell HEAL ME PLEASE............HEAL ME.. |

yeah im 56.
i've been trying to gauge how i'm going by dueling paladins the same or higher than me. So far i've played two 60 paladins. One I beat, the other was pretty close. A 57 paladin, who thought me winning was just luck, so we went a second time, and I beat him within seconds ... (lot's and lot's of seal of command crits). and then a lvl56 paladin same level as myself, he did pretty well, but at the end realised that he was no match :D He conviniately /kneel'd or something and it looked awesome as my last polearm swing finished him ^ |

Talk about sore loosers. The horde on the Uther server are on strike. They don't want to PVP at all, because they think it's a zergfest. What a pack of sooks.

it is a zergfest...
I find it really is just stupid now. Atm its not a very nice time to be lvl42... i cant go ANYWHERE without getting ganked so now im just doing SM over and over till i get to around 45 or so then ill get some people to drag me through some random instances. Oh well, at least im able to gank in Stonetalon and Desolace! ha :D |

I almost have my onyxia key now. Should have it tonight if i don't try and do something silly like uni work. The honour system seems to be working nicely on our server, whenever you're bored just head to TM/SS and join in the endless battle.

There is absolutley no kidding that battle is endless, its amazing on frostwolf some days you get to feel the lag from that zone when your all the way up in the plaguelands, unreal :-O
another place ive been finding a good hotspot is the arathi highlands, refuge point on the alliance side, and that horde town, dunno what its called, i just bust in there with 50 other alliance and trash the place :D we counterattacked the horde so hard there one night they actually ressed out back, outside the walls and made a portal to orgrimmar lol, all 30 of em bailed :D was one sweet victory, especially since i was 100 honor points richer! |

well, i joined uldum, and with the help of the LG crew im up to lvl 27 already, 5k from 28, making good haste even considering i go out on the weekends and have uni in the week!
i rolled a warrior this time, even tho i dont get free mount at 40 or those lovely shield and heal combo's, im enjoying the dual weild, the ranged weapons and just the sheer change in style of combat. killing stuff with haste is just a total godsend! i cant wait till 36 when i can get the quest for SM! :-D |

The new honor system is pretty funky indeed. For my first week of play, I only got about 3500 cp's (about 500 hk from huge raid groups). Mostly got these from TM/SS raid, where the alliance are pretty damn dumb. The horde always bait, the alliance follow, the horde guard zerg us. Since TM/SS is the usual "bang the head against the wall" stuff, I raid alot in the barrens. I'm easily averaging over 1000cp's per day here. I've had some small 5 v 5 fights, which were pretty damn enjoyable. I actually only got 7 kills in one day there and a total of 500cp's from it. The crossroads is always alot of fun. The horde usually push us out. WEe regroup, some horde leave, we then mow over them from all directions. Then the Orgrimmar raid happens. The battles there are huge. The horde, with the help of the lvl 60 elites, usually push us back out. We've actually gotten to the leader (forgot his name), but he's pretty damn tough, totally demolishing us in a few seconds. The Drag sux, because it's a fricken bad bottleneck for us.
In the last couple of weeks, we even raided thunder bluff. Funniest and most enjoyable raid ever. I was getting chased by a number of horde, and a few were so dumb, they followed me off the edge and died with me. The honor syhstem is enjoyable... I can't wait to see if I can improve my standing of 181 and rank of sergeant. |

Lol. I certainly picked the server to be on. Uther, the realm I am on has a scandle. Some wankers (I never liked them) from a guild over here were transfered to a newish, non transferable realm. Boy has the s*** hit the fan. We're glad those n00bs are gone. They talk the talk, but they can't walk the walk. Why did they get the transfer? Apparently they were being harrassed and they knew someone high up. They were the one harrassing. That guild was actually in the process of imploding, with members leaving and making guilds of their own. No doubt pissed off at not doing any server firsts. Read the WoW forums for all the info. Another day in the World of Warcraft.

Yer, CoA went away and now the wankers are back.. lol.. They are gonna have a lot of fun now..
Anyways, some good news. The alliance guild, Ascendence, has done an Uther server first and have successfully killed Ragnaros. http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-realm-uther&t=10168&s=new&tmp=1#new EDIT: Just added a link to a thread I started, which has a link to a WoW video I put together. The video was from some cross roads pvp from the last few nights. The server I'm on is PvE, so I was able to record some of the action, without worrying about getting killed. http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.aspx?fn=wow-realm-uther&t=10209&p=1&tmp=1#post10209 last edited by KrasH at 12:42:20 07/May/05 |

Is the lag still bad on blackrock? I moved to daggerspine, and you still get it at peak times -- mornings cuz of the time difference between here and US. |

The traffic from wow servers is pretty damn low. With full pvp with 40+ on each side, it only peaks at about 4-5KB/s down. Normal play it's only 1KB/s, mostly because the calculations etc are done client side. That said, I wonder how much server bandwidth they have, concidering that realms are put together in clusters and the clusters share things like bandwidth and databasing etc.

30 mins for 10 gold = 300 mins for 100 gold = 5 HOURS to make 100 gold $19 for 100 gold = a whole lot less than 5 hours of work Maybe I just don't understand the whole "working harder to make money in a game than I do in real life" thing. |

well basically if people were always buying money it would pretty much ruin the econemy because EVERYONE would have loads of money.
People who were just starting would if anything be forced to buy money because things that used to cost 1g now cost 50g. I just think its a unfair advantage for those who play the game properly and spend time actually EARNING the money only to be out bid on an item by some fag who just paid real money for gold. |

i can see that point, but its also the same as saying if you want to be on the fair ground, put your money into it. gaming is afterall a hobby, and like all hobbies, at some point, putting more money into it may just make you that bit more competitive...
its the simple truth, though its a pain in the ass considering for so long gaming has in a way been untouched by that plague :S when the masses start doing it (by masses i mean over 70% of gamers) then, well, then gaming is really going to become a game of how much money you have to throw away :O |

thats the thing, its not a money game. EVERYONE pays their $16 a month (or what ever it is) and then you play.
If you play everyday you're gonna get better stuff than someone who plays for 3hrs a week.... but then that 3hr a week person goes off and buys loads of money then and ends up with heaps better items. Money games suck. |

I'm not too worried, blizzard always bans accounts that they find doing this (as it is agains their EULA) and if more people started to do it then more people would find themselves being banned. I sure as hell ain't risking getting my account banned after the ammount of time I've put into them, and really if you want gold in the game just take up mining and skinning. You'll be loaded in no time.

I went to Daggerspine as well. Its really quiet compared to Blackrock. I was ~ position 200 for pvp on server, but just slipped back to 800 last week =(
Diablo, many players have a problem with external purchases because it does affect gameplay. Its like saying "Why play an FPS with mouse and hand when I can setup auto-headshot scripts". If you dont like the game mechanics, you shouldnt change them to suit you. The main problem many players have (aside from Americans who just like punishment in everything they do) is that farmers do really impede gameplay. I come from Lineage2 where you literally could not use the dungeons for the first 40 levels because they were 100% under farmer control. Not only that, but farmers are there for business. Business is about efficiency. Its inefficient to fight on fair terms. Every single one of them was using 3rd party hack programs. They knew griefing tactics down to the last scam, and to be destroyed by one really hurts. Because its not a match between 2 players. Its just a business process. You want quest item, but they wont let you have it. Not out of spite but because it impinges on their profits. NCsoft did eventually try to solve some of the situation by making quest mobs not drop any kind of loot. Each zone had at least 20 farmers. They were in every dungeon, every field, and could be found in every town delevelling their characters to maintain loot efficiency (equiv of 'grey' mobs didnt drop loot, high level mobs too hard to farm). It made life and gaming hell. Just as you do not see the point in punishing yourself to be good at a game, others do not see the point in being punished by businesses catering to your lazyness. The hatred towards the farmers stems from deeply frustrating situations. WoW wont generate much hatred, because you rarely notice farmers, they're pretty impotent (many hacks in Lineage2 existed for a year before being patched out), they suck at pvp, only miners are generally affected, dungeons are instances, best equip is BoP, and on PvP servers alliance will farm them for honour. Im just surprised you'd buy gold in such an easy game. I mean, its seriously easy. You can earn gold whilst earning xp. Most games you either grind for money, or grind for xp. |

lol, I just spent my 100g on Lord Alexander's Battle Axe. Pretty good deal, IMHO. :P
And yeah, I know I shouldn't buy gold -- it ruins it for everyone, blah, blah, blah. But I'm sick of being the perpetual lowbie in my guild because I don't play as much as everyone else, so I'm happy to pay cash if it'll help me catch up. |

Bomb3r3, I *am* 60. I shouldnt have to hit 60 to have an opinion on the matter however. Like I said. In previous games, farmers have prevented PLAYERs from PLAYING the GAME they purchased, because some dumbass doesnt want to PLAY it, he just wanted to 0wnz it.
Money *is* easy to learn. I regularly get BoE blues from scholo and strath that sell for a fair chunk, I have a few arc crystals, and am quite efficient at gathering money via mining and cloth sales. SM Cath isnt that great money. Ok, for Rogues they can turn a pretty decent profit. But anyone else can earn big money via all manner of goods. Even wool cloth sells insanely. My concern with the 'allure' to go purchase money, is some n00b retard is gonna run me down on an epic mount just because he lives at home in his parents basement. Life is sucky enough without having to deal with cowards and cheaters in my entertainment. But as long as I maintain my rank, 800g epic is sounding good. Doing way too much overtime this month to play much, but on my days off I'll definately try to earn at LEAST 100g a day. |

Battlegrounds came out today. Alterac mountains wasn't working, but Warsong gulch was a lot of fun. My poor lvl 51 self got hammered by the 60s, but I was still somewhat useful to the group. It would be a helluva lot easier with voicechat though. Nothing worse than when everyone is just trying to do his own thing.

it will be good when they add proper guild support into battlegrounds, something like the bnet system would be the way to go.

Well, the latest patch is live, with Battlegrounds... I only had time for a game of BG CTF in warsong gulch and I must say it was a fricken enjoyable experience. First time in, my team won 3 - 1 ;). The horde also had some supposadly uber pvpers who are the first ones to complain on the forums about the TM alliance zerg.. It seems the alliance are doing better than we all expected... ;) The group I was in, granted, had some of the best players on our realm (atleast from the best known guild, who were the first guild on our server to take down Rag a few weeks ago) were just awesome. I actually got heals for once... At one time, I jumped into the horde flag area, all kamakazee and our priest shielded me up and I was getting all sorts of heals.. the 5 guarding horde all attacked me and we fricken got the flag from under their noses... I died, but we got the flag.. ;P
Great fun. |

Warsong rocks. haven't lost a game yet as alliance. The interesting thing i've found is that priests see to make great flag carriers, after druids that is :)

i dunno if people can really say that they are the 'best' pvp'r because i mean, wouldn't it all be down to how much you play? I guess thats where battlegrounds is helping to sort n00bs from decent players.
There needs to be a proper way of having guild vs guild battles with competitions and stuff... *edit Just watched the video then... hah, in all the clan matches i've played with you, you've ALWAYS been attacking. How much freekin' health do you have lol... last edited by fatbastard at 12:55:52 14/Jun/05 |

I sort of agree..
With the BG you do notice who the n00bs are. The problem on our realm is that the alliance greatly outnumber the horde and the waiting queue's, even in Warsong can be over an hour sometimes. In regards to who is better. In AV it seeems the alliance seriously dominate even when the numbers are the same. But then when the horde see the alliance winning, some start to leave. In Warsong it's a whole different story. The alliance do well there. Most alliance groups are pickup groups and when it's pickup vs pickup the alliance usually wins. But then, you get the premier horde guild on our realm, Spite. They were undeafeted until a day or so ago. They steam rolled any pickup group. I was on the loosing end of some off their fighting and when I see their members in the teeam list, we usually just defend and try and farm as many cp's as possible. The first game against them was over in 5 minutes.. next game lasted over an hour, but we still got hammered 3-0. Their winning streak stopped when they came up against the alliance guild Reign, who have the top 5 ranked alliance players. If only ascendence go against them, I think they'df pawn them. But unfortunatly, some ascendence members are apparently members of spite aswell.. BTW, ascendence are the only guild to take down Ragnaros on our realm. The better gamees I play, usually happen when there is an ascendence member or 2. Now a little more observations. It seeems that the alliance are getting better in pickup groups. It also seems that the alliance that are playing at the times I play (evening our time, early morning server time) are actually better players than most. I tried playing at the server peak time on the weekend, and some of the pickups were damn crap. So much so, I just walked straight out of the BG and logged. But when you get an organised group it's alot of fun. For me personally, prefer playing a defensive role. It seems to be rather good for farming some cp's. The other day I only had time to get 64hk's, but from that I got over 6,000 cp's ;) not bad for 2 games ;). Anyways, I look forward to seeing my rank tomorrow. I hope I'm in the top 200 again atleast and I hope I get a better rank than lowly knight. |

Just watched the video. Bloody good stuff. But from what I saw, the alliance on blackrock must be pretty damn crap. It';s damn easy to slow down anything, but they hardly slowed you down at all. I then decided to read a little wow blackrock forum stuff and it pretty much confirmed that there are alot of crappy alliance there. Is it true that alliance hasn't won AV on there yet? As I said in the other, on uther alliance dominate in AV. In Warsong Gulch it's a bit towards the horde side, but alliance do win. I've been on winning pickup groups so yeah, the alliance have won.
good stuff. |

Bah, I'm starting to regret I moved from Blackrock to Daggerspine. =(
I played in Alterac for a bit the other day. Got about 100 HKs which was enough to bump me up to Grunt and get my trinket (dear god do I need it. So many classes can just shred warriors by slowing/stunning them, and free action pots are so fkn worthless it's not funny). The alliance managed to summon their giant ancient of war dude, which bugged and regenerated to full health about 3 times >_< Still only lvl 53, but I'll get to 60 someday!! well considering Tom has pretty much all whoop arse items he ends up with crazy amounts of health.
I've managed to take down a fair few people who have been a couple levels above me and then i get other which just f*** you up straight away... its about 50/50 for the good/bad ratio on alliance and horde. |

The alliance on BR are such a bunch on whingers. I was questing in blasted lands yesterday and all i could see on the general chat was an argument between two raid groups as to who got to do Kazzak. The funny part was that one group trained him onto the other group as they were setting up to make the all wipe. At this point i decided to go do some BG.

General on Uther is pretty good wherever you go.. Alot of funny stuff to be heard.
Anyways, I quit my guild the other day. The idiots were getting agro because I would rather pvp in warsong than do an UBRS run with them. I told them more than a few times that in 2 weeks, I'll have plenty of time for that stuff, just not now.. then one of the members got all pissy about it. Then I just /gquit. Good luck to them. I was the only warrior they had at lvl 60, and one of the first in the guild to hit 60, so they can go and get F**ked. Also disagreed with the guild leaders looting rules. In one DM north run, he actually rolled on a plan that another party member could use. And no, it wasn't a blacksmithing plan. The idiot also rolled on a mace at the end, even though he had a doomsaw. The mace wasn't an upgrade and I wanted another guildy to roll for it, even though the mace would've been an improvement for me (still using the songblade with crusader enchant), I didn't roll, until I got prodded. Oh well. The guild members are good, but the leader is an idiot. He even defended the actions of a rogue rolling on the Dwarven Hand Cannon which is an epic gun. before they went into scolo or whatever, loot rules were "discuss epic drops". Everyone discussed and agreed that a hunter in the raid should have it. The rogue rolled it, took it then 5 minutes later put it at the AH with his alt. Rogues and warriors only use guns for the stats like agi, str, sta.. not for the fricken dps. The guild leader didn't even give me a reply when I told him the last sentence. Next day I logon then he started talking s*** again.. He said the rogue equipped it, but he didn't.. Can't wait for BF2 to go retail. I suspect it'll have much less of this kind of crap. Oh yeah. Talk about free speach. I put up something on the guild website about why I left and some questions to the leader. The thread got deleted pretty much straight away. I wonder if I should post it in WoW uther forums. That'd be interesting. Oh well, Already got invited to join another guild, who are at present tackling MC. Still gotta suss them out though and see what I'll do next. I get atleast 2 or so guild invites a night, but mostly from small guilds needing a warrior. I might even scrap my warrrior for a bit and continue polaying my rogue.. lvl 20 in only 1 day of of play time. So easy when you have financing from a high lvl main ;) and free weapons from a blacksmith ;) BTW, it's great to see less farmers around selling gold for real money ;) About time blizzard deleted all acccounts with currency above 1000g from any player with chinese ip's ;) last edited by KrasH at 15:59:36 15/Jun/05 |

needs more green or something. Brown is a bit boring imo.
My char looks really crap atm. I had some cool looking stuff then i saw a few new items for my lvl and now i look pov. I think i might start hunting around for hte coolest looking items i can find. I found this two handed sword (some fairyl s*** green item) but it looked SO f***ing kickarse. It had a dark grey/black blade with a red flame in the middle. |

Hmm, looks like warriors get a major change in 1.6.0
Hopefully our successive-level abilities will be improved: eg spending the 5 gold to upgrade mocking blow from level 2 to level 3 results in it doing an extra 20 damage. Whoop dee f***in doo. Same with intercept, pummel, and a couple others -- just a bit of extra damage, and no useful improvement. But I'm just whingeing :P Now that my exams are finished, I'll be able to get up to 60 and get my Battleground on :D Shame that pallies still own warriors in pvp >_< |

yeah gotta say when Camp Taurajo sucked arse when i was doing it. Took SO long running around the bloody barrens >_<
*shrug* i dont see many problems with hunters. The only thing that still pisses me off is that my stable is STILL f***ed. I still somehow have 3 pets in there even though i've only got 2 slots for them and 2 of the pets are some random cats that i never actually tamed. Then sometimes you try and swap your pet for one in there and you lose both your pets! So then i have to log out, log in, try resing my pet, if that doesn't work try pulling a different one out, and then put it back in... *sigh* |

The next patch will appareently "improve" the Warrrior talent tree. We apparently get all our talent points back, which will then allow us to respec for free. Wii certainly be interesting.

It's a pitty that AV is pretty much dead on my realm. Something to do with poplution imbalance and the horde never having the opertunity to win any of the battles. The time spent fighting (usually 6-8 hours) has turned alot of people off..
Warsong gulch is almost dead too. There are alot of battles happening, but there is quite alot of agro between some horde and alliance guilds. One alliance guild in particular are well known for camping the GY with their flag, pretty much making the game a stle mate. A horde guild has been accused of using the warsong gulch terrain to their advantage, finding places to hide that are more than difficult to get too. Oh well, atleast the massive city attacks are starting up again. Orgrimmar get's hit pretty much every night. I do my best to help the horde with my tauren druid (lvl 31 now, but should be way more. I blame the pvping I do) and the fighting can get rather big. I did attack orgrimmar with my lvl 60 human warrior the other night, be the MA of sorts. Then when the main damage dealer got disconnected, I couldn't believe how good it was to have 3-4 healers constantly keeping you healed up. Most godly I have ever felt with my warrior. 2,000+ heals left, right and centre ftw ;) I'm loving the druid. Last night I took him for a walk through alliance territories causing havoc and popping world defence. Even the lvl ??'s couldn't get me.. Travel form, Aqua form and cat form stealth just rule. So easy to survive when you can escape. last edited by KrasH at 13:20:33 21/Jul/05 |

Well, I'm gonna post another rant of my experiences in WoW.
In the last wek or so, I decided to play my human warrior again, after leaving him on the shelf for about 3 weeks while playing my tauren druid. The druid has stopped lvling at lvl 32. The main reason I went back to warrior is because he lost his rank of knight because he wasn't played for those 3 weeks. I felt sorry for him. Anyways, in the week before last, only got 10,000 cp's with him since I didn't pvp as much as I'd like. His standing was about 160. Last week, I got over 30,000 cp's with him and he has a standing of 60. I was pretty happy to break into the top 100 for alliance. Anyways after being 1 rank down, to rank 5 I got him into knight and almost got him to the rank above. Next week at this rate I should have enough cp to go up one rank. Warsong gulch is turning into a joke with one of the main horde guild's afking out of matches where they think they'll get beaten. Now alliance are afking out on them. Pretty sad indeed. So mostly, after I afk against them I head to orgrimmar where a few alliance go to cause trouble and pvp there. AV sometimes comes up during peak times, and even when the teams are 40 vs 40, alliance win */bow's before Ivus". The Matches usually last 5-6 hours, sometimes even more though. Also during the week got a whisper from someone I don't know, asking if I was from Canberra. Apparently there are a few canberrans on the Uther realm, which I didn't know.. I thought I was the only canberran there. That said, there is a guild called Anzacs, so I guess Canberrans would be in that.. Anyways... That's all that's happened in the last week or so.. Oh and one of the top guilds on horde have disbanded because of lack of end game content. Frater e Fractus (Brotherhood of the fruit). Best bunch of horde players around. Some made another guild, others are waiting for the next MMORPG, which I forget the name of, but starts with V. |

Heh, as soon as i hit lvl51 i started going into AV. I ended up on the top half of the score board just by sitting back shooting multishot at everyone. Show'd dem lvl60 n00bs hahah :)

My guild's been hitting Molten Core every friday night (US time) / Saturday arvo (Aus time). It took us a few goes to kill Lucifron, but we finally managed to, and we're going to try Magmadar this weekend.
My warrior needs better gear, but I'm doing alright. I'm a Senior Sergeant atm, and I can't wait to get to the officer ranks. It's pretty hard for a warrior though -- we're pretty lousy at pvp. Fuggin paladins destroy us every time. They are so uber at pvp it's just gay >_< |

In our realm, the top ranked horde is a warrior. On alliance the top is a mage, 2nd is a warrior and 5th is a warrior.. the other 2 spots in the top 5 are rogues I think.

The last few times i've played av the top ranked person has either been a Mage or a Hunter. Mages are awesome for just spamming it up, and hunters are little bitches and sit back shooting everyone.
In proper organised av runs though Warriors usually sit up near the top rankings because everyone is healing them. Being a hunter, i must say Flare is f***ing awesome. It always seemed so pointless until av came out. You catch SO many rogues with it. |

human perception is pretty good for detecting rogues. It's why I can mostly pwn them (except for the good ones who stay behind you in stealth). Unfortunate that very few humans use the ability effectively :(

The latest UI I am using is Ultimate UI. For the cleaner combat log, I am using Hits mode. I think it's a part of UUI.

Just an updfate on my WoW progress. I have switched sides perminently. I am now concentrating on my Tauren druid. I've sold anything of value my Human warrior had (quite a few arcanite bars) and in the process of transfering the funds over to horde side for the druid. Druids at lvl 38 at the moment. Lvl 60 should be achieveable in 6-8 weeks with the hours I play. BTW, the druid is lvl 38 after 8 full days of gameplay. Pretty good concidering I PVP with him quite alot.
Anyways, For the horde |

Last weekend the Uther realm got invited to witness the summoning of Prince Thunderaan. 3rd time I think over all servers. It took the summoner about 5 months to do the quest line and collect the meterials for it. Something about needing 100 arcanite bars or something.
Anyways, I made a video and the link is below: http://files.filefront.com/thunderaan1_0001wmv/;4224975;;/fileinfo.html I'd also like to add that my tauren druid is lvl 47 atm and my human warrior was only used to see Thunderaan. The warrior is still in silithus. |

Hakkar had a disease that randomly spread to nearby allies. When he died (or the raid left Zul'Gurub) it was supposed to be removed.
Unfortunately, Bliz forgot to check pets for the plague; they carried it into the major cities where it just spread exponentially. Was actually kind of funny for a little while, then it just got gay. |

People were dismissing their pets then going to org and getting them back. Then someone ran it all the way to IF and everyone there died to. Hilarious. |

We had major probs in Org on the 2nd day after patch 1.7. I then logged onto my now retired Human warrior to take a look at Ironforge and I must say, Most likely the most hillerious thing I ever saw.. Lagforge was full of dead bodies. Hearing all the low lvl gnomes die made me laugh for quite a while. I did my job and tried to spread it as much as I could.

There was a huge bit of Uther drama a while back, when it was found out that 2 prominant guilds traded WSG wins. There is now apparently a gentlemans agreement for WSG for these 2 groups now. If the game hasn't finished within an hour, everyone is to go to the middle and the last person standing = win for the team. Then they get free caps if any are left. have no idea if it was done more then a few times. WSG on Uther is pretty much only for 10-19's and 20-29's. AB seems to be the most popular by far.
I must add though, the 10-19 WSG is a blast. I have a lvl 19 UD rogue and lvl 19 Orc Hunter in that segment and I must say it's great. Hunters especially, are overpowered in the 10-19's. Whenever I play the hunter, I more often then not top the kill sheet. Even managed that when my hunter was lvl 14 once. What I hate though, is bumping into the lvl 19 Rogues with alot of agility enchants. Blizzard should really impose lvl restrictions for enchants. Gotta add, that on the weekend there was an AV game going and it finished after 36 hours. Pretty much a stale mate with horde and alliance pushing each other back and forth. Alliance won that one though. last edited by KrasH at 11:57:45 03/Nov/05 |

Yeah, its pretty awesome playing with a decent guild, though i hate how we join a game of AB, and the alliance litterly just start dropping as soon as they see its all IK. :( Its happened to me a few times though, i join a game and because its a full alliance team like HS and nomaam every one on horde drops and im the only one running at a point >_< last edited by fatbastard at 09:54:20 04/Nov/05 |

Well, after hanging around with my guildies in the 50-59 bg's, I lvled my Tauren druid to 60 (Those guildies not 60 yet, are pushing it after the next maintanance). That means I have 2 lvl 60's. I actually decided to queue up my lvl 60 Human warrior for some AB action and I must say it was the first time I ever got 5 capped. AB is much more fun with the tauren druid.
Anyways, was just a progress report. |

OK, seems that Uther and Proudmoore are getting server transfers to a new realm. I might be transfering my human warrior over. Anyone from Uther (where I am) and proudmoore thinking of doing the same?

Not the most up to date profile, but atleast the pvp honor stuff is accurate. I actually have another 2 peices from the pvp set (15% run speed increase in bear, cat and travel form ftw) and wsg rings etc.
Anyways, the link http://www.wowguru.com/sig/204824.gif I'm basically getting about 60-80k honor per week, to get a little gain without the grind. When I hit rank 9, I could probably stick to the same range, but it'll rank way slow, so most likely will have to increase it past 100k. My aim is to get rank 11 atm, so by rank 10 I'll have to increase my weekly honor past 150k. On our realm, horde maintain an honor cap (200k atm), so it shouldn't be too difficult. Time will tell if I get to rank 11 though. last edited by KrasH at 23:54:15 19/Mar/06 |
